About the Workshop
This workshop will take place on the 20th of May.
It will begin at 10 am and finish at 5 pm with a break for lunch, which will be provided.
This workshop is suitable for beginners.
About the tutor
Geoff Gould is a former Artistic Director of the Everyman Palace Theatre and founder and Artistic Director of Blood in the Alley Theatre Company and the West Cork and Backwater Fit-up Festivals, He trained at Lamda and is currently researching a PhD in contemporary theatre at U.C.C. As Blood in Alley’s director, Geoff has directed Tricky, This Ebony Bird, Jumping the Sharks Smallone, Second City Trilogy, Howie The Rookie, Catalpa, Woman and Scarecrow, The Lonesome West, Under Mik Wood, Wake and a national tour of Krapp’s Last Tape.
For Everyman, he directed The Playboy of the Western World, The Deadman’s Beard, Faustus, Rashomon, Home is the Hero, When I Was God and Religious Knowledge/Parental Guidance.
For Pat Talbot productions he directed Brian Friel’s Philadelphia Here I Come.
Additional directorial credits include a national tour of Making History by Brian Friel, public readings of Brian Friel’s work at his 80th birthday in Glenties and a production of excerpts from six of his plays at the Irish Centre in Paris and KLPAC Malaysia for Ouroboros. Romeo and Juliet for Cork Opera House, Tis Pity She’s A Whore, King John ad Romeo and Juliet for Lamda and Tic for Tall Tales.
